Bible
Life of Christ continues to follow the unified story of the Bible established in The Story of the old Testament with a special focus on the life of Christ. The Gospels resent the life of Christ as the fulfillment of God's redemptive plan as promised in the Old Testament. This course will prepare students to live with Christlikeness in our world today, teaching them crucial Bible study skills for interpretation and application.
Literature
Making Connections in Literature equips students to analyze texts and identify themes in a variety of texts so thye can evaluate and connect literature to the rest of the world. Ultimately, this course encourages students to develop both artistic and biblical discernment so they can be creative, Christlike communications.
Writing & Grammar
Writing & Grammar 8 functions as the Year of the Paragraph and will help students become clear and coherent communicators by giving them opportunities to learn from good writers and apply grammar and writing skills to their own writing.
Math
Pre-Algebra gives students a strong foundation for Algebra 1 while also connecting their studies to the to real-world applications and helping students understand the implications of math study for biblical worldview. This course helps students to progress from foundational to more advanced mathematical skills and strategies with expanded opportunities for abstract reasoning and real-world problem-solving involving the number system, expressions and equations, functions, geometry, and statistics and probability within the context of a biblical worldview.
Algebra 1 equips students and teachers with tools and strategies for using and developing algebraic models to solve real-world problems within the context of a biblical worldview.
Science
Physical Science is a research -based course introducing students to chemistry and physics, equipping them to be student scientists. Going beyond science facts, students will learn to think critically about real-world science problems. Additionally, they will be given strategies for making ethical decisions based on a biblical worldview.
History
World History is a two-year course beginning the first half in the eight grade and continuing with the second half in ninth grade. World History invites students to study major patterns in the world, showing how they ultimately lead to the triumph of God's kingdom. Students journey through history and study significant periods from Creation and the earliest post-Flood civilizations to the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, the Reformation, and the Enlightenment.
